In the four miniatures that form this small piano cycle — "it’ll be okay, bby boi" - "Still, Life" -"Empfindsamkeit" - and "recollections of someone else’s memory" – I wished to offer simple, hushed, yet surprisingly vast musical landscapes which also shyly hint at the music of György Kurtág’s Jatékók that inspired them. I wanted to make these small works seem larger than they are as if they were brief glimpses into a much larger world. My sincerest gratitude to Jihye Chang for asking me to write for her…thank you.
